A Legendary History
Spector was founded in 1976 by Stuart Spector in Brooklyn. Their big breakthrough came in 1977 with the help of designer Ned Steinberger , who created the revolutionary, ergonomically curved NS body design—a feature that made Spector famous for its comfort and looks.
The international breakthrough came in 1983, when Sting of The Police played a white Spector NS-2 during his world tour. That bass is now a museum piece at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
