Taylor Next Generation Guitars: Innovation you hear and feel!
With the Taylor Next Generation guitars, Taylor Guitars elevates their renowned Grand Auditorium models to a higher level. Significant upgrades in sound, playability, and ease of use.
Thanks to the revamped Scalloped V-Class bracing, the guitar sounds fuller and warmer, with more sustain and better balance across all strings. At the same time, the Action Control Neck allows you to easily adjust the string height without complex procedures, which is ideal for guitarists who want to fine-tune their setup quickly. What makes this series special is the combination of precision and character: you get the clear definition Taylor is known for, but with added depth and an almost vintage-like warmth. This makes the guitars versatile, from fingerstyle to powerful strumming, and suitable for both stage and studio.
Live performance is enhanced with the new Claria™ pickup system, developed with a clear focus on ease of use and live performance. Instead of tweaking their old system, Taylor completely redesigned it, working with artists and sound engineers. The result is a reliable, natural sound that sounds great right out of the box with minimal adjustment, with simple controls in the soundhole:
Volume – controls your output (how loud your signal is)
Mid Contour – this boosts or "scoops" the mids (providing more presence for solos or an open, scooped sound for strumming)
Tone – controls the treble (bright ↔ warm)
The beauty is that everything has been deliberately kept simple: no complex EQ or menus, just three knobs that allow you to quickly go from a warm rhythm sound to a clear lead sound. (The three knobs typically seen on the outside of a Taylor body are absent on these models.)
Behind the Taylor Next Generation guitars is the vision of Andy Powers, the current CEO, president, and chief guitar designer of Taylor Guitars. Since his arrival, he has significantly influenced the brand with innovations such as V-Class bracing and redesigned body shapes, combining traditional lutherie with modern technology. His philosophy revolves around improving the entire playing experience, something that is clearly reflected in this new generation of guitars. Features like the Scalloped V-Class bracing and the Action Control Neck are typical examples of his approach: practical, innovative, and immediately noticeable to the player. With the Next Generation line, Powers shows how Taylor not only evolves but actively shapes the future of acoustic guitars.
