3 handmade Gibson G-3 pickups from Nashville, string-through-body, buck-and-a-half wiring

The Epiphone Mike Dirnt Grabber G-3 Silverburst that houses the Gibson G-3 bass with which Green Day recorded Dookie, now with three handmade Nashville pickups and a Leo Quan Badass II bridge

Mike Dirnt is the bassist who defined Green Day's sound. From the garages of Berkeley to the biggest stages in the world, he played his Gibson Grabber G-3 with a precision and energy that gave the bass its own voice in the Green Day sound. On Dookie, now celebrating its third decade, that bass can be heard on every song. Epiphone, in collaboration with Dirnt, has built an instrument that not only reproduces its visual appearance, but also its tone and features.

The three Gibson G-3 pickups are handmade at the Gibson Pickup Shop in Nashville and wired in the original 'buck-and-a-half' configuration: neck + middle together for a full humbucker tone, all three active for maximum punch, and middle + bridge for a tight, aggressive attack. The Leo Quan Badass II bridge with string-through-body construction gives the bass more attack, sustain, and intonation accuracy than a standard bridge can offer. The 34" three-piece maple neck and the maple body give the Grabber G-3 its characteristic bright, direct tone that allows the bass to cut so well through a full-band mix.

Double-cutaway maple body in Silverburst, 34" 3-piece maple bolt-on neck, ebony fretboard with Black Abalone Dot inlays and 20 medium jumbo frets, Grabber V headstock shape with open-gear vintage clover tuners, bone nut, Leo Quan Badass II string-through-body bridge. Includes hardshell case.

The Mike Dirnt Grabber G-3 Silverburst is for the bassist who understands that punk also has its own legendary instruments.
