Gibson Thunderbird Bass Tobacco Burst Perimeter

The Gibson Thunderbird Bass combines an iconic shape with a powerful voice of its own

The Gibson Thunderbird Bass is for bassists who take both their sound and their appearance seriously. The Non-Reverse Thunderbird shape, the Tobacco Burst Perimeter finish, and the gloss nitrocellulose lacquer give this bass a distinct vintage character. The mahogany body and glued-in mahogany neck provide a solid foundation, while the chrome hardware gives the instrument a bright, classic look.

Two EB Bass humbuckers, at the neck and bridge, deliver a full, direct tone with a clear punch. With individual volume controls for both pickups and a master tone control, you can easily adjust the balance to suit your playing and the music. From solid lines that carry the band to melodic passages that deserve to stand out, this Thunderbird offers a wide palette of usable sounds.

The SlimTaper neck feels sleek and familiar, with a 34-inch scale length and a rosewood fretboard with a 12-inch radius. Twenty medium jumbo frets and acrylic dot inlays provide a clear playing experience. The Graph Tech nut is 40.64 mm wide. The adjustable truss rod makes it possible to set the neck to your preference.

The hardware has also been chosen with reliability in mind: a Hipshot Supertone bridge and Hipshot Ultralite Mini-Clover tuners. The white three-ply pickguard with Thunderbird graphic, black pickup covers, and black top hat knobs with silver reflectors complete the design. The bass comes with a hard-shell case. With string gauges .045, .065, .085, and .105, this Gibson is ready to take its own place in the mix.
