This Fender Kingman bass brings acoustic warmth within easy reach

Composing a bassline on the couch, playing together with an acoustic guitarist, or fleshing out your ideas during a rehearsal: the Fender California Deluxe Kingman Bass CE Black is a great fit for all of that. This electro-acoustic bass guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top and a shorter 30-inch scale length. This means the frets are closer together than on a standard long-scale bass, which can be comfortable when you are starting out or prefer a more compact feel. The black finish, ivory-colored binding and pickguard give it its own distinctive look, while the Jazz Bass headstock provides a recognizable Fender touch.

The solid top works together with laminated mahogany back and sides and scalloped X-bracing. This combination gives the Kingman a full, warm foundation with enough clarity to distinguish your notes. The phosphor bronze strings add a rich acoustic character. Without an amplifier, this is a great way to practice at home and work on basslines. For a gig or playing with a louder band, use the built-in Fishman CD-1 preamp. With volume, bass and treble controls, you can easily adjust the amplified sound, while the built-in tuner makes tuning straightforward.

The mahogany neck has a Slim C profile and a satin urethane finish. The walnut fretboard combines a 9.5-inch radius with 20 frets and white dot inlays. The Micarta nut is 38.1 mm wide; the bridge saddle is also made of Micarta. The cutaway makes the higher positions easier to reach, for example when you want to try out a melodic part. It also features a Modern Viking bridge, open-gear tuners and phosphor bronze strings in .045 to .100. In addition to the tone controls and tuner, the Fishman electronics also feature a phase switch. The body has a glossy finish, and this model is made in Indonesia.

Are you looking for an accessible acoustic bass that also works well when amplified? With this Kingman, you can start discovering your next bassline right away.
