The Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1959 Les Paul Custom Antique Ebony that reproduces the rarest configuration of the Black Beauty: two pickups, Bigsby, and Grover Imperial tuners
Joe Bonamassa is a guitarist, collector, and one of the world's leading experts on vintage Gibson instruments. His 1959 Les Paul Custom is not a standard Black Beauty: it's a rare custom order with only two pickups instead of the usual three, equipped with a Bigsby vibrato and Grover Imperial tuners that distinguish it from any other. That instrument is the direct inspiration for this Epiphone reissue. In collaboration with Gibson Custom, every detail has been reproduced as accurately as possible.
The two ProBucker Custom humbuckers deliver warm, open, and dynamic sound, with the layered Les Paul tone that characterizes a Custom. The Bigsby B70 vibrato gives the instrument the ability for subtle pitch variation. The Grover Imperial tuners are a direct reference to the original. CTS potentiometers and multi-ply binding on the body and neck complete the picture of an instrument meticulously crafted in every detail.
All-mahogany body in Antique Ebony, mahogany neck with 1959 Rounded Medium C profile, ebony fretboard with pearloid block inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets on a 24.75" scale, 60s Kalamazoo headstock with Custom Split Diamond inlay, Graph Tech nut, full gold hardware. Includes certificate of authenticity and Nerdville hardshell case.
The Joe Bonamassa 1959 Les Paul Custom Antique Ebony is for the guitarist who understands the difference between a Black Beauty and *that* Black Beauty.
