The 60s J-45 Original in Ebony: the most powerful color variant of the iconic slope-shoulder model

The Gibson 60s J-45 Original returns to the specifications of the most productive decade in J-45 history: a fuller Round neck profile than today's Standard, a compound dovetail neck joint with hot hide glue, a 60s tortoise pickguard with hot stamp logo, and the familiar combination of Sitka Spruce on solid mahogany. The Ebony finish in nitrocellulose lacquer is the most direct color choice Gibson offers for this model, and stands in strong contrast to the wood textures and cream details of the instrument.

The Sitka Spruce top on solid mahogany back and sides delivers the characteristic J-45 sound: warm, full, and direct, with a dynamic range that convincingly renders everything from subtle fingerpicking to powerful strumming. This version is without a built-in pickup, ideal for the player who wants to play purely acoustically or prefers their own signal chain. The mahogany neck has a Round profile with a rosewood fretboard, MOP dot-inlays, and 20 frets over a 24.75-inch scale length. Grover Strap Cream Button tuners and the compound dovetail neck joint complete a guitar that lives up to the J-45 tradition. Delivered with a hardshell case.
