The Signature Guitar that Captures Jeff Tweedy's Sober Tone and Deep Expressiveness in Sapele
The Martin 000-Jr-E Jeff Tweedy is not a guitar for those who want to impress with volume or flash – it's an instrument for those who believe that character lies in what you leave out. Martin designed this 000-Jr in close collaboration with the Wilco frontman, and the result is a compact, lightweight guitar that feels exactly as Tweedy plays: intimate, direct, and no-frills.
The sapele top combined with sapele back and sides gives this guitar a warm, mid-focused tone with a slight crispness that makes fingerpicking and open chords particularly shine. The scalloped X-brace provides an open, resonant response that you wouldn't expect from such a compact body. The 000-14 fret configuration with a 24.9" scale length makes the guitar comfortable to play, even for longer sessions.
The neck is made of Certified Select Hardwood with a High-Performance Taper profile – fast and comfortable, even for players with smaller hands. The ebony fretboard with Foden Style inlays and 20 frets feels precise and durable, while the Nickel Open Gear tuners provide stable tuning. The built-in Martin E1 pickup makes the guitar stage-ready. Comes with a gig bag.
A guitar that tells its story without shouting – for the player who knows what they're looking for.
