Epiphone Thunderbird 60s Bass – An Icon Reborn with Modern Pickups
The Epiphone Thunderbird 60s Bass is one of the most recognizable basses in the world, and for good reason. Since its introduction in 1963, the Thunderbird has produced hits for bands like The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Cheap Trick. This is the bass that makes a statement as soon as you pick it up.
The mahogany body gives the Thunderbird its distinctive warm, dark tone with a deep sustain that makes your low-end roar. The new Epiphone ProBucker Bass #760 Humbuckers provide a powerful, clear sound with plenty of character – from growling and aggressive to warm and melodic. The vintage Tune-O-Matic bridge with Claw tailpiece gives the bass its classic feel and stable intonation.
The 7-ply mahogany/walnut neck with Indian Laurel fretboard plays smoothly and comfortably across the entire 34" scale length. The Thunderbird 60s is an accurate reproduction of the original, but with the reliability and playability you'd expect from a modern Epiphone.
