The Rosewood Telecaster that George Harrison made famous, now re-created by the Fender Custom Shop

In 1969, George Harrison played a full rosewood Telecaster during The Beatles' legendary rooftop concert. Fender re-released that instrument in a limited edition through the Custom Shop, and this 2007 Team Built version is a direct result. Entirely constructed from rosewood—body, neck, and fretboard—this is a guitar with a weight, warmth, and resonance you won't find in any other instrument.

The sound of a full rosewood instrument is undeniably different. While a standard Telecaster is bright and punchy, this guitar has a darker, richer tone with more sustain and a full midrange. The two Fender single-coil pickups deliver classic Telecaster articulation, but filtered through the rosewood body, they sound warmer and rounder than you might be used to. The result is an instrument that sounds excellent both clean and slightly driven.

The 25.5" scale length and 21 frets are classic Fender, and the chrome hardware keeps the whole thing understated and timeless. The electronics are traditional: volume, tone, and a 3-way pickup selector. No frills, no superfluous features—just the essence of what a Telecaster should be. Delivered with a hardcase.
