Margo Price J-45 – Soaring high and transcending musical boundaries

The music of the award-winning Margo Price defies categorization. She moves effortlessly between country, Americana, and classic rock—and her trusty Gibson J-45™ has always been her companion. The Gibson Custom Margo Price J-45 captures that spirit precisely: the freedom, craftsmanship, and connection to nature that make Margo's music so unique.

Inspired by her beloved J-45 from the sixties – described by Margo herself as “my main baby; my guitar I play all the time” – this model has everything you would expect from a top-class J-45, but with a character of its own. The guitar features a slightly thinner mahogany body with a red spruce top, fitted with traditional hand-scalloped Advanced X-bracing. The mahogany neck has a comfortable Rounded profile and a rosewood fingerboard, while Grover® strap tuners with white buttons provide vintage charm and stability.

The nut and saddle are made of bone, the bridge pins are made of TUSQ®, and thanks to the built-in LR Baggs™ electronics, this J-45 is immediately ready for both stage and studio use.

The most striking detail? The double 50s-style pickguards with red-tailed hawks—a personal symbol for Margo. For her, these birds represent strength, perseverance, and connection. In her own words:
