The Hummingbird in Purple Burst: a stage legend with a finish as distinctive as the guitar itself
For over sixty years, the Gibson Hummingbird has been a staple on stages and in studios worldwide, and the Purple Burst finish adds a distinctive visual identity to a model that is already striking in every way. The Sitka Spruce top on solid mahogany back and sides delivers the characteristic Hummingbird tone: warm, full, and versatile, with a midrange that effortlessly encompasses both chord playing and lead work. The scalloped X-brace allows the top to resonate optimally, and the LR Baggs VTC pickup faithfully captures that character for stage use.
The distinctive square-shoulder body provides broad projection and an instantly recognizable presence. The iconic Hummingbird pickguard with floral motif, MOP Parallelogram inlays, and gold hardware give this instrument the luxurious appearance befitting the model's class. Grover Rotomatic tuners and TUSQ nut and bridge pins ensure tuning stability and optimal transmission.
The mahogany neck features a Rounded profile with an Indian rosewood fretboard and 20 frets over a 24.75-inch scale length. The Reverse Belly rosewood bridge and 12-inch radius complete an instrument that sounds classic but demands to be seen. Comes with a Gibson hardshell case.
