The Gibson SJ-200 set the standard in 1937 for what a large acoustic guitar could be, reaching its cultural peak in the 1960s. During that period, the King of the Flat-Tops could be found in the hands of Pete Townshend, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and Jimmy Page. The SJ-200 60s Original is a tribute to exactly that era: AAA flamed maple back and sides with the distinctive checkerboard marquetry on the back, a solid AAA Sitka Spruce top, and the 60s-specific 1.687-inch nut that makes first-position chord playing noticeably relaxed.

The two-piece maple neck with walnut stringer has a Round profile with a rosewood fretboard, Mother-of-Pearl Graduated Crown inlays, and 20 frets over a 25.5-inch scale length. The solid 60s SJ-200 Moustache bridge with bone saddle, gold Grover Rotomatic tuners, and TUSQ bridge pins are historically correct. The LR Baggs VTC pickup with volume and tone control in the soundhole makes this instrument stage-ready without compromising its acoustic properties.
