The Music Man Pino Palladino Stingray: the fretless bass that captures the tone of a legend
Pino Palladino defined the sound of the fretless electric bass in the 1980s, and the Music Man Pino Palladino Stingray is the guitar that captures that sound to perfection. In the beautiful Palladino Burst finish, this is not only an instrument of exceptional quality but also a tribute to one of the most influential bassists of recent decades. This is the bass for the player who knows what they're looking for.
The tonal character is instantly recognizable: the late 70's voiced Music Man humbucker with flat pole pieces gives the tone that warm, singing quality that makes Pino's playing so unmistakable. The unlined fretless Rosewood fingerboard invites expressive, vocal playing, while the 2-band active preamp (25k volume, 500k treble, 100k bass) allows for precise tone adjustment without compromising its organic character. The Poplar body with Maple neck is light and resonant, weighing only 4.4 kg.
The Pre-EB geometry Music Man bridge with chrome steel plate, brass saddles, and stainless steel string mutes is a direct reference to the original instruments of that period and contributes to the authentic response and sustain. Schaller Bass tuners ensure stable tuning. Scale length 34", 7.5" radius, Music Man neck profile. Supplied with a softcase.
The Music Man Pino Palladino Stingray is a bass you don't just play, you experience.
