Adirondack Spruce and Indian Rosewood: the Builder's Edition 814ce for those who want the maximum
The Taylor Builder's Edition 814ce Adirondack Spruce is the most pronounced version of Taylor's iconic 814ce. While the standard 814ce is already a benchmark in acoustic guitar building, the Adirondack Spruce top takes the instrument to another level. Adirondack, also known as Red Spruce, is the tonewood that gave the great pre-war guitars their legendary sound: stiffer than Sitka, with a higher stiffness-to-weight ratio, resulting in more volume, more dynamic range, and a richer spectrum of overtones.
Indian Rosewood back and sides give the 814ce its characteristic depth and clarity. The combination with Adirondack Spruce creates a guitar that responds powerfully to attack, projects widely, yet retains the articulation and balance for which the Grand Auditorium body is known. The V-Class Relief Rout bracing optimizes the top's resonance and gives the guitar extra sustain and intonation precision across the entire register. The rosewood armrest significantly increases playing comfort.
The Builder's Edition finish means rounded edges, a comfortable armrest, and extra attention to detail. The ES2 pickup system delivers a faithful amplified sound. The guitar comes with a luxurious hardshell case.
The Taylor Builder's Edition 814ce Adirondack Spruce is for the guitarist who knows the 814ce and wants to know how far Taylor can go with the best materials available.
