The Walrus Audio MAKO D1 MKII turns every echo into its own playground
The Walrus Audio MAKO D1 MKII is a delay pedal for guitarists who want more than just one repetition behind their playing. Six programs give you different starting points: Digital, Mod, Vintage, Dual, Reverse, and Grain. From tightly timed echoes to unpredictable textures, you can give the repeats a distinct role in your part, rather than just using them as background.
Digital keeps rhythmic lines clear, while Vintage can color the repeats darker and warmer. Mod adds moving pitch shifts, and Grain lets you experiment with short, stuttering, or fluid sound trails. In Dual, you can set separate rhythmic subdivisions for the left and right channels and choose how the feedback runs between both channels. Reverse flips the echoes for a completely different reaction to your picking. In this way, the same guitar part can take on a new character with each program.
The D1 MKII offers BPM control with a screen display, tap tempo, and MIDI control, plus room for up to 128 presets. With the encoders, you can adjust depth, rate, shape, age, tone, spread, swell, and tap division, among other things; six waveforms give the modulation extra room to play. The screen helps you navigate through the secondary settings and presets. A versatile delay for those who like to combine rhythm, atmosphere, and experimentation in one pedal.
